The performance data was impressive: 88 hp at 9, 000 rpm and a maximum torque of 67 Nm at 8, 500 rpm. This was enough to accelerate the 216 kg racing replica from 0 to 100 km/ h in 5. 1 seconds with a full tank of petrol, and it was only at 225 km/ h that the fun was over.
The stable frame of the half-litre RD consisted of a double-loop construction with square tubular steel profile parts and a continuous line from the steering head to the swingarm mountings.
