RE-LISTED DUE TO A TIME WASTER WHO WITHDREW THEIR OFFER!
Hi.
Here we have my 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 that I have owned since 1995. It is a very good example of this growing and sought after classic sports car. Listed as an Historic car (hence no tax or MOT required) and is an originally badge Ferrari model, not the earlier Dino model that someone has since added the Ferrari badges to.
The mileage is genuine at only 13, 828 miles and has to be the lowest mileage of any GT4 on the market today (the earliest MOT I have to verify the mileage is 1991). It drives unbelievable well, not surprising considering the low mileage that this car has covered. The engine is strong and starts first time.
Originally yellow, the car underwent a partial renovation in 1994/ 5 by the first and previous owner when it was re-sprayed in Rosso Corsa. I have the documented history of the work undertaken both then and since.
The specification of the car is also unusual and rare, it has a factory fitted sunroof as well as factory fitted air con, I believe one of only 28 of this derivative. During my ownership I have replaced the exhaust manifolds with stainless steel versions, the cooling system header-tank (a common source of coolant leaks) has been replaced with a stainless version. All the suspension bushes have been replaced as have the coolant hoses, water pump clutch and throttle cables, tyres and brake pads. The engine and gearbox have been regularly serviced and the cam belts, tensioner pulleys, oil and filters have all just been replaced. I also manufactured and installed a modern mini fuse fuse box in lieu of the extremely dodgy original version. However, I do have the originals which can be re-fitted at anytime, although I wouldn't recommend this unless you were going to enter the car into concourse events.
The car has always been kept in a dry heated garage and is rust free underneath. The sale includes the interior and exterior covers and comes with the original Ferrari jack but not the tool kit.
The underside of the car is immaculate.
Be advise though there are some areas on this car that will need attention.
The air con needs to be re-charged.
The boot lid stay needs to be re-attached to the boot lid.
There are a few minor body paint chips and defects.
There is some minor corrosion behind the off-side rear wheel.
I've tried to be honest about the condition of the car and shown the appropriate photographs highlighting the the areas mentioned.
The car is kept just outside Warwick and viewings can be arranged by sending me an eBay message to agree a date and time.
Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any other questions.
If you call and I don't answer, please leave a clear message and a number and I'll get back to you. Or text me. CheersI've owned this car for 30 years and covered very little mileage in it. I am a very competant vehicle mechanic and have always undertaken all the necessary servicing myself using approved Ferrari parts.
The previous owner who's wife owned the car from new, had intended to keep the car after he had it sprayed Rosso Corsa so he could put it in to his private collection of cars, but then got offered a deal on a 288 GT0 as part exchange - well who wouldn't. Lucky me, I then got to buy the car he had just spent a fortune on!
