The car is a 1977 RHD car that was made for the UK market. I bought the car in August 1992 and soon after, started the car's restoration which was finally completed in October 2016! Before I retired a few years ago, I owned a car repair garage and for the most part, the renovation was carried out at my workshop. The car was, as is the case with all Ferraris of that era, very badly affected with rust and corrosion on all panels. The car was therefore totally stripped down to almost the last nut, bolt and rivet and with all paint and body coatings completely stripped off. It was then meticulously restored, replacing any steel metal areas that were corroded, including having a complete new, genuine Ferrari roof panel. All of the steel body panel repairs, after thorough cleaning and/ or sand blasting, were lead-filled as per specification prior to final preparation. The car has been painted in Chiaro Rosso colour as is correct for year but with the extra protection and enhancement of clear lacquer over. Both front and rear subframe sections and rear engine bay and boot panels and firewall panels have been replaced with new steel panels. Quite literally every metal panel on the car has been either repaired by welding in new repair panel parts, or replacing complete with new panels. All shock absorbers have been replaced. Suspension arms overhauled, as have all suspension parts including new hub bearings and restoring the entire braking system which is now filled with silicone brake fluid. All nuts bolts, washers and component parts as required have been re plated, painted or replaced as required. All body cavities have been treated with 'Waxoyl'. Carburettors have had a total overhaul and renovation including re plating all steel components and screws. Engine and gearbox have been stripped and rebuilt using cleaned and inspected original parts except cylinder heads which have both been overhauled and having new valve guides where required. All new gaskets throughout. There is a slight oil leak from the front bank cam cover/ pulley area and belts are again due for replacement. Ignition system completely overhauled and electronic ignition fitted to replace points ignition system but visually kept original looking. New HT leads also. Interior has been totally restored with cream and black leather to match original colour scheme. All new carpets throughout. Fascia cover/ s renovated or replaced as required. New 16" wheels & Pirelli P7 tyres fitted. Many more photos available. Any genuine inspection welcomed. It is an affordable Ferrari and in my opinion is in excellent condition now due to the extensive restoration work that has been carried out.
Because of its age, it is MOT and Road Tax exempt.
It drives and handles superbly, as would be expected.
