1998 BMW Z3

Z3 Roadster 2. 8

The BMW Z3 is a two-seater sports cars which was produced from 1995 to 2002.
The body styles of the range are:
2-door Roadster (E36/ 7 model code)
2-door Coupé (E36/ 8 model code)
The Z3 was based on the E36 3 Series platform, while using the rear semi-trailing arm suspension design of the older E30 3 Series. It is the first mass-produced Z Series car. Production ended on June 28, 2002, with the Z3 line replaced by the E85 Z4.
Roadster models entered production in September 1995, powered by 4-cylinder engines on launch. 6-cylinder engines were later introduced in 1996.

History

Supplied new by BMW main dealer Cronk of Redhill and supplied to its first owner on the 13th March 1998, following long term ownership the vehicle was then passed to a family member in March 2016. The vehicle was then used for sunny days up until 2020.
The original BMW service book contains 2 BMW service stamps, the first being its pre-delivery inspection service at 12 miles followed by a BMW service at 7128 miles on 21st March 2001. Following on from this the vehicle was dry stored between 2003 to 2015.
Included in the history file is the BMW drivers pouch, original stamped service book, owners handbook, supplementary owners handbook, additional operating instruction manual, BMW car audio manual, BMW service stations manual, dealer warranty and emergency service handbook manual, digital alarm system manual, BMW service card, BMW security sticker, BMW dealer business cards, original BMW brochures, original BMW price lists, a selection of tax discs, MOT certificates, original tax disc holder, original BMW number plates, original purchase invoice/ receipt, new vehicle order form, original V5C, SORN certificates, BMW service invoices, all keys, original dealer key rings, factory alarm fob, unused first aid kit, unused tool kit, genuine BMW factory hard top, hard top bag, original tonneau cover and wind deflector.

Exterior

Finished in 668 solid Jet Black paint, the paintwork is extremely glossy, shiny and overall finished to a high standard. This low mileage example has hardly any stone chips to the front or rear flared arches.
The exterior rubbers, matching etched glass, lenses and trim all look original in lovely condition.

Interior

The interior of the Z3 has been optioned to a very high standard and in our opinion a beautiful colour combination.
Finished in optional Beige / Dark Beige full Oregon leather.
The interior dials and switch gear function correctly and show virtually no signs of use.
The interior is timeless.

Interior options include:

Sports seats, polished Maple wood trim, air conditioning, leather M steering wheel, front passenger air bag, front seat heating, graduated tinted screen, heated door mirrors, rear roll over bars and factory BMW tracker.

Engine and Transmission

The 2-8 litre straight-six engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential, the drive is as you would expect, pure BMW.
The vehicle performs beautifully having just benefited from a major service and health check, to include oil and fluids.
The engine and transmission feel tight and as you would expect an
13500 mile engine and gearbox to perform.
The vehicles undercarriage and wheel arches have been cleaned and retain a finish as you would expect a vehicle with such low mileage.



Fitted with optional 17-inch round spoke alloy wheels wrapped in matching Goodyear eagle F1 tyres, 225/ 45 R17 front and 245/ 40 R17 rear tyres have less than 1000 miles on them
The brake pads and discs have recently been changed.

I purchased the car from Smith's classics in 2021, since my ownership I have completely refreshed the suspension and the car drives spot on. I also had the above work done with regards to the brakes and I had the new tyres fitted, also replaced the seat bushes.
So the new owner will have nothing to do to the car. I will be sad to see the car go but I am moving house and will no longer have a garage for storing the car and really don't want to leave it sitting outside due to it's time warp condition, really hope the car goes to a good home, collector etc.
