Description
Just arrived at The Garage!
1947 Riley 1. 5 litre RMA
Announced in August 1945 and available from the Autumn of that year, the 1. 5 Litre RMA was an entirely new design although it used the well proven 12/ 4 engine that dated from 1934, albeit with several modifications.
The handsome styling was very much in the modern idiom and boasted a leathercloth covered roof - a feature that was to reappear in the early 1970’s on a number of cars.
The performance was most acceptable for a car in this class, being capable of 77mph with excellent handling characteristics.
This example has been with the present owners since 1995. It was painstakingly restored to a very good standard over several years and presents very well. All brightwork was re-plated and the interior completely retrimmed. The car has an MOT Certificate valid until 6/ 11/ 24.
The RM Series Rileys benefit from very good spare parts availability through the RM Club and the Riley Motor Club, which adds to their enduring appeal.
