Description
The one and only Riley “Osprey” 2-seat RM Roadster. Scratch-built by renowned marque engineer (previous builder of the “Kescock” a beautiful 2-seat Kestrel) Here we have another of his Riley creations, - a 4-year project, with all alloy bodywork, upgraded 1, 5L engine. This unique car still looks in nut and bolt virtually brand new condition.
Based on an original 1952 RMA 1. 5L chassis. The upgraded, high (8. 2) compression engine is fed by twin 1 1/ 4 SU’s, Arrow con rods (as used in world race cars) 4. 4:1 axle ratio, Avon Turbospeeds and (flexible) fast road cams.
Body fabricated in 16 swg aluminium over a handmade steel cage frame, hence it is totally bespoke. The finished style recalls the pre-war Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Corsa Spyder with its wide, low slung, swept-tail styling.
Riley RM Convertibles usually sell for much higher prices but you will never see another like this one. There are bills on file for £27, 000 which doesn’t include the four years skilled labour to create this automotive masterpiece.
The period bucket seats are from an Austin 7. Easily erected hood in black cloth. Comes with road tools, Workshop RM Manual, Spare rad cap, V5 (with correct designation as Riley Convertible in Historic Class). Car located in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, FY8 3TA. Competitive transport arranged, if required. For more call John on number above.
