EXTERIOR
The Seal Grey paintwork presents in wonderful condition and shows off a luscious metallic shimmer under our studio lights. Presentation is first class with typical areas such as mirrors and recently re-PPF’d rear arches showing almost no signs of use; climate controlled dry storage has clearly been a priority.
Trim surrounds and rubbers remain soft and supple, whilst headlights that are usually susceptible to clouding are clear and unmarked. The inner arches and underside are excellent with no damage or any signs of corrosion.
INTERIOR
The 997 maintains that perfect Porsche balance of style and substance with a cabin swathed in leather and graced with plenty of tech. Heated sport seats retain excellent integrity and show no abnormal signs of wear with stitching and contour in fine condition. Switchgear can often fall foul of grubby fingers and sharp nails although buttons and dials read crisp and clean.
Accompanied within the car is the latest offering of Porsche’s Classic Communication Plus (PCCM+) which gives you the modern-day creature comforts of Bluetooth, Apple Car play/ Android Auto, Satellite Navigation, a microphone for use of handsfree calls and a user friendly touchscreen for ease of use. A wonderful and costly (£1. 5k) feature which adds to the already well appointed interior.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With a full engine rebuild completed in September 2023 by Friends Green Porsche, the engine fires into life effortlessly with the sound of the unmistakable flat 6.
The generation 1 cars were synonymous with bore scoring and IMS bearing issues from new and in this case became apparent even at such low mileage. As such a recent £10, 000 engine rebuild with updated parts ensures future proofing and complete peace of mind for its next owner. Receipts for the rebuild including new pistons, reconditioned cylinder heads, skimmed engine block, new coil packs, new big end bearings and new big end bearing shells are all present.
Married to the freshly rebuilt 3. 8 litre Flat Six is Porsches seamless Tiptronic ‘S’ gearbox pulling through the gears with perfect German precision and, matched with the extra hp of the S model, amplifies the mid-range torque.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 19″ Carrera Classic Alloy wheels are in excellent condition and showing no signs of marks. Wrapped in a set of Pirelli P-ZERO tyres; all of which are near new having been fitted to the car in March 2023 and covered minimal mileage since.
The tidy red calipers offer an elegant contrast against the Seal Grey bodywork, with the car performing very well on test pulling up quickly and smoothly thanks to recently replaced disks and pads all round.
HISTORY FILE
Delivered 06/ 01/ 2005 to Porsche Centre West London, this 997 has a 8 stamps in its service book with a mixture of main dealer and Porsche specialists – Friends Green Porsche – with its most recent service being on the 13th of November 2023.
On the 28th of September 2023 a full engine rebuild by Friends Green Porsche was completed and since then has covered just shy of 1000 miles. With just 2 previous owners and such low mileage alongside all the recent remedial work, this beautiful 997 is quite a prospect for either European road trips or daily duties.
A full book pack is accounted for, alongside the spare key, original stamped service book and a whole host of invoicing and MOT certificates verifying the cars mileage.
