Here we have a super rare Mk1 Granada Perana Coke Bottle Coupe which is a manual and its Right Hand Drive. The car is number BG550. This car is in superb order and is a genuine Perana. its been in the Uk for a few years and has had 2 owners. It comes with one set of keys, V5, current MOT and a folder full of information / brochures relating to the Perana. If your into Granada MK1 Coupes this is the one to have.
History - No I dont usually write this sort of guff " Ford produced the Granada from........ blah blah" however with this car I feel its important to explain what it is, as some will not know what a Perana is or how it came about. The Perana was built in South Africa by Basil Green Motors. they started with a 3. 0 Granada and dropped in a Mustang 302 V8, upgraded the radiator and made amendments to the engine mounts and steering. It had a Holley 600 cfm carb and most were automatics. This is one of approx 20 Manual Coupes that were made. The rear suspension was a 2. 92 Borg Warner XB set up pinched from Australia. Springs and shocks were also upgraded and the cars were sold by Ford Dealers.
Body - Granada Coke Bottle Coupe shell which has never been welded and is very original. There is a tiny bit in the spare wheel well which needs a minor repair but we will attend to that before it goes. The floors, sills, arches, inner wings, panels are all original. Panel gaps are good. Underneath was recently given a light coat of clear Waxoyl to protect it but you can still see the original factory coating and how solid it is. The paint is Maize Yellow and is very tidy. It looks a lttle brighter in the pics than it is a sit was really sunny today when we took the pics. There is a small scrape on top of the osf wing about an inch long, otherwise the body is lovely.
Interior - All as it should be. Black seats and door cards with wood infill. No rips or tears or speakers cut in. Headlining is good as is the carpet. Everything looks original and nothing is aftermarket.
Mechanics - Basil green fitted 302 V8, 4 speed manual box. Car starts runs and drives as it should. Has a manual choke fitted for the UK climate. The car has only done 94000 kms which is 58000 miles. It comes as mentioned with an MOT till July 2024. The car is MOT exempt but the owner put one on anyway for peace of mind.
Wheels - Chromed Granada wheels with black infill. This is how they came from new on the early Peranas. Spare wheel is matching and looks tyo have its original spare tyre on it.
