Ordered and specified by me summer 1990 through Ryland Lotus Birmingham.
Delivered and registered March 1991.
Calypso red with optional extra full leather interior, grey with red stripe.
A service and MOT completed 21/ 03/ 24 (no advisories) by Unit 4 Lotus Burton.
Cam belt change June 2021 at Unit 4 Lotus.
All previous servicing undertaken by main dealer and Lotus specialists.
Car always garaged from new. Car is currently covered, trickle charged and stored in my dehumidified garage.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain an Elan in exceptional condition with such low mileage and low ownership.
The car is highly original.
It has excellent calypso red paintwork, unmarked original oz alloys and features which are now normally absent from these cars such as the original dealer plates, perspex number plate cover, Blaupunkt montreaux radio cassette player and correct whiplash aerial. These are all intact and in excellent condition.
Leather seats are unmarked without scuffing to the seat bolsters.
I have the original letters from Lotus cars and the dealership congratulating me on purchase, also the letters informing me of the end of production of the Elan. I even have an unused 1992 Lotus diary which i obtained for completing Lotus cars customer satisfaction survey.
I have tried to describe the car honestly and as part of that i have to mention that the only downside is a very small 1 inch tear in an otherwise perfect hood. I discussed this with Paul Matty (Lotus specialist) several years ago and he advised me if the car was simply going back into my Lotus collection unused to leave it or alternatively have it stitched and maintain the originality of the car.
I feel i have priced the car correctly to take this into consideration allowing any new owner to make the decision as to whether they choose to leave, repair or simply replace the hood.
