1989 Mercedes Benz 300 SL R107. Artic White with Medium Red Leather, Black soft top and factory hard top. This beautiful Mercedes has been with its last keeper for 12 years and is in outstanding condition. Having been garaged and cosseted throughout its life, the bodywork is in immaculate condition with hardly a blemish to betray its age. The low mileage of 95, 000 equates to just 2, 700 miles a year and in recent years minimal mileage has been covered as the vehicle has been in a private collection. Supplied new by Bargate Motors Mercedes Dealer of Boston Lincolnshire to Mr J. Woodbine of Whitby on 10th March 1989. The original owner would have been thrilled to collect this luxurious SL from the Mercedes-Benz dealership and enjoy the ride home before carefully stowing the hardtop in the garage, taking the hood down and then experiencing open top motoring in one of the most admired German roadsters of all time. He kept the car for 4 years and used it sparingly when the car was part exchanged back at Mercedes and sold to Mrs Pamela Grant in August 1993 at 2, 774 miles. Mrs Grant enjoyed the car for slightly longer keeping it until February 2002, some 9 years when it passed to Mr Crook at 39, 000 miles. The SL was then only used for 2 years before being sorned in 2004 and then sold to Miss J. Burrage in February 2007 at 43, 000 miles. It remained in this ownership for the next 5 years before passing to its most recent keeper Mr Lenard in 2012 at 71, 000 miles. The outstanding history portfolio accompanying the car is one of the best we have seen containing mot certificates back to the first issued in 1993 as well as 21 service stamps all from Mercedes main dealers and specialists along with a huge amount of invoices for services and other work carried out. No expense has been spared in the upkeep of this car and the condition speaks for itself and it drives and performs equally as well as it looks and with all that confidence-inspiring work behind it, the new owner could set off on any journey and feel positive that their gleaming SL wouldn’t miss a beat.
