1950 MG YA Saloon
The first MG Saloon to feature independent front suspension and rack and pinion steering, the ‘Y’ Series MG was originally intended for launch in 1940 having been developed through 1938/ 9. However, WW2 prevented the car going into production and it was not in fact launched until 1947.
This example has been well cared for and based on old documents the recorded mileage of just 26, 000 miles is believed to be genuine. A complete body-off restoration was undertaken during 2005 with photographic evidence.
The level of equipment on the Y Type was as would be expected on a quality sporting saloon and included a sunshine roof and built in jacking system.
This car retains the original registration and has the optional twin wind tone horns.
A particularly attractive feature of this model is the characterful 1930’s styling and due to their enduring popularity, they are well catered for in terms of spares availability.
