EXTERIOR
A marriage of elegance and dynamism produces the car for every occasion; The 911R.
Over the years the 911 had received numerous aerodynamic and safety-inspired add-ons, diluting the purity of the original form until the R’s arrival marked a return to basic principles. The clean and conventional shape is broadcast beautifully in unique White paintwork with Iconic Green Stripes that has been preserved and enhanced by PPF from new.
While the car reverts to a simpler styling exercise a magnesium roof, carbon front wings and significant rear diffuser provide a multitude of technological achievements that ensure the finest dynamics available.
INTERIOR
There was only one manufacturer that could blend the original with the new quite like Porsche; Houndstooth pattern trimmed with Brown and Black leather works in harmony with carbon sculpted 918 body hugging sports alongside an abundance of alcantara to the roof lining, lower dash and door trims. The dash is trimmed in leather with contrasting silver stitching that continues and adds definition throughout the car right through to the door pulls. Illuminated carbon fibre door sills greet driver and passenger on entry while a host of tech including DAB radio, Nav, Bluetooth and online services all played through an upgraded BOSE sound system provide entertainment and connectivity.
At the business end, black dials adorn the instrument cluster. The standard speed limiter button sits close alongside, traction/ stability control, switchable exhaust and suspension pre sets.
Sound deadening has been removed to the tune of 4. 5kg, enhancing aural drama and further endorsing the lightweight designation.
ENGINE TRANSMISSION
The 4. 0 litre engine is hidden from view under black plastic and twin fans however it’s every bit as special and matches the technical and advanced construction of the rest of the car. Engine specification is shared with the mighty GT3 RS and in this case is enhanced further by a single mass flywheel.
There is also a different crankshaft constructed by a material that is only used on the 919 LMP1 racecars – a highly clean metal that is melted and solidified several times to get it as pure as possible and more durable. Re calibration of the rear wheel steer and a large diffuser helps to promote aerodynamic effect with the absence of a rear spoiler.
Of course a mention should be made of the manual box that uses the casing from the RS’s PDK but with new internals, shaving 20kg of weight in the process. Fluid and tactile it is comfortably the key to the ongoing success behind this revered and respected icon.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The tyre sizes are nothing short of impressive: 265/ 35 ZR 20 on 9. 5 J x 20 at the front, 325/ 30 ZR 21 on 12. 5 J x 21 at the rear. An un-compromised decision from Porsche Motorsport boss Andreas Preuniger it was a must to use the same setup as the 918 Spyder for outright mechanical grip despite all initial CAD mock ups showing they would not fit. Suspension and body changes were all necessary along with expensive adjustments to the production line as the car was too wide! The result of the 20/ 21 inch combination is sensational showing added pitch combined with maximum track width on the rear.
Massive PCCB brakes sit pride of place behind the multi spoke factory option black wheels providing insane stopping power in conjunction with the Dunlop Sport Maxx 2 contact patch.

Delivered by Porsche in September 2016 to it’s one private owner from new, this unique R has been serviced on time as illustrated by the original service book;
