A super example of the “Alpine 6”, powered by the 1633 cc Riley engine and mated to the silent 3rd 4 speed gearbox. Being lighter than the larger Riley 6 cylinder models, this fabric bodied car has slightly better performance owing to it`s higher power to weight ratio however it very much retains it`s vintage feel with it`s cable braking system which is surprisingly effective and also it`s period interior.
This Alpine has had much money lavished on it over the years with a total restoration some 9 years ago. The blue fabric body is in fine condition and is complemented by black mudguards, a lovely blue leather interior, blue carpets and a highly original dash panel with correct instruments.
It maintains it`s original GN registration number and nearly continuous ownership including buff logbook with indicated fuel ration stamps points to it`s originality. The car benefited from an engine rebuild by marque expert Keith Pointing and has also been totally retrimmed with full fabric recovering; there is a large supporting history folder.
Extensively improved in 2021 mechanically with the help of many Riley enthusiasts and Specialists. Recent works include new bulkhead boxes.
A lovely example of the 6 cylinder Riley Alpine Saloon.
