Description
……………….. SORRY, RESERVED FOR ANDY KIRTON…………….
This is a 1977 R75/ 7, and after considerable re commissioning, is just in from a regular customer of mine.
Phil has traded this one in for an RT, and has plans to do more touring. The bike had lay dormant for many years prior to Phil’s acquisition, and just some of the work he completed included:
New fork seals, new calliper seals, refurbished switchgear, wheel and head bearings stripped and re greased, all new wiring, relays and LED bulbs, new points condenser and atu springs. Tank cleaned and re sealed with Tapox. Carbs stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, and rebuilt. Gearbox stripped, rebuilt with all new bearings and seals, and new clutch fitted. New battery and cables. The only area not addressed is the smoked red paintwork, that although is presentable, some may consider it needing a refresh.
Hopefully this gives you a flavour of the attention lavished on the bike, and since it’s arrival, I’ve fitted Hagon rear shocks, a full period pannier set, and a lovely, unmarked full stainless exhaust system. There’s also a conversion to twin disc set up that will come with the bike. Unusually, also fitted with the optional kickstart box (as well as electric of course). Obviously Historic status, so free tax and MOT exempt.
All in all, a smart, well, sorted old Airhead that is ready to ride. Even at this price, I’ll consider YOUR Airhead in a deal, cash either way. Nice Airhead boxers always wanted in outright purchase.
All the best
John
