Well this is refreshingly different and getting as rare as hens teeth with just 104 of these advance styled, ultra cool, retro Saab’s still on the road according to the “How Many Left” website, just look at the curves and edges, what a beauty this is, stand out from the crowd, be the talk of the shows, get admired and start conversations wherever you turn up in this Swedish stunner.
It starts, runs, drives, turns and stops exactly as it should with no issues, noises, groans or moans, 4 speed super smooth and easy to drive column shift gears, firm brakes, wander free steering and working lights, wipers, indicators, heater, washers and hazards, jump in, drive off & enjoy today.
4 seats with belts, no rips or worn though seat facings, mostly un-molested original dashboard, good carpets, a pleasant and very comfy place to settle in for motoring adventures. We love the way the front windows open and arc down into the door, the little curved stainless steel door ash trays with sliding lids, the air vent scoops on the back panels each side of the rear screen and prominent wheel rims, the car is loaded with “space race” or “aircraft” design type touches throughout.
Its just as solid underneath as it is on top, see the pics and video, it would benefit from some Waxoil or underseal but we have left it uncovered for now so the buyer can see what’s on offer. It very solid under the bonnet and inner wings, tidy enough engine bay with all the correct ID plates on show and just as tidy and solid in the boot and under the boot floor. All the tyres are very good, no age cracks or splits, good spare wheel in the boot with the correct jack and a a spare bumper corner.
Mileage is a complete unknown, looking at the wear on the pedals it’s not been to the moon and back despite its rocket styled lines, the clock fitted is not the original as it has a digital readout, the MOT history is all over the place with low miles one year and over 100k the next alternately over a long period, possibly the MOT man reading the part mile digit on some occasions.
It benefits from free road tax and its MOT exempt, classic car insurance would be around £125 for most drivers, there seems to be a good variety of UK based parts suppliers, enthusiasts and clubs, all these can be found with a quick Google search.
As with any classic car there will always be little jobs to attend to and improvements that can be made, we are offering a very sensibly priced, very usable and very rare 49 year old motoring ikon, it will not be the very best one available, it may not win the best in show but it is a lot of fun, very striking, head turning and very different motor, any buyer should expect to nurture it far more than their modern daily runabout.
