We took this 1. 9 Gti in part exchange and have spent some good time making everything work correctly and lightly tidying it up.
The car has covered 174, 000 miles and had an engine rebuild 25, 000 miles ago. We replaced the cambelt, carried out an engine service and fitted a new clutch cable as part of the work and it runs and drives very nicely.
The bodyshell appears strong and in good condition for one of these cars. We have carried out some repairs to the underside to a high standard including attention to an advisory on the last MOT before the car arrived here.
Inside the dashboard is excellent and everything now works properly. The trim is very good, the carpets are serviceable and the sunroof operates correctly. The front seats are tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk...
There is a large history file including the invoice for the engine, the original Dealer Pack with a stamped Service Book, and MOTs going back to the late 1990s.
Priced to reflect its condition, this 205 is great fun and in good order overall.
