This stunning left-hand-drive convertible gained national attention when it was featured on the TV show Dream Car Fixers. The car was originally sourced from Ireland, where it had been used as a wedding vehicle, before undergoing a body-off respray approximately six years ago. During this restoration, it also received a new interior and mohair hood. The painter at the time described it as the best Beetle he had ever come across—a testament to its quality and condition.
Once back in the UK, it was meticulously restored for the TV show, undergoing a host of improvements, all fully documented and signed by the show’s producer. This included a full top-end engine rebuild by a specialist Beetle garage, covering cylinder heads, piston rings, and air pipes. The team also confirmed that the car is solid underneath.
Further enhancements include a new clutch, new alloy wheels and tyres, and chromed engine tinware. It has also been fitted with new heat exchangers and fresh trim, making it one of the most well-presented examples on the market today.
