Description
THIS delightful old Cortina is one of the batch of Crusaders which were rolled out towards the very end of Cortina production in 1982. Note the "Crusader stripes" along the sides and on the bonnet, plus up-market wheels and interior. Crusaders are highly sought after these days and come with the added attraction of being both tax and MoT-exempt. Perfect for using on an everyday basis in ULEZ areas of course.
AND PLEASE EXCUSE THE POOR PHOTOS. CAR IS MUCH SHARPER AND PRETTIER IN THE FLESH AND IS REALLY RED. AS RED AS A RIPE TOMATO!
The car's mileage can be traced all the way back to its very first MoT in 1985 and is therefore sitting at 113, 000. But it's a very sharp looking example. And, after all, 113, 000 miles divided by its 43-year-old life thus far works out at just under 2, 700 miles a year. In many ways, I prefer that kind of usage to a classic with say 60 or 70k on the clock that has spent too many years in storage. This car has been in regular use all its life with evidence of it being in attendance at recent "Cortina Day" rallies.
These late Mark Vs are extremely pleasant cars to drive and this is a very bright example. Tiny bit of scabbing to a couple of door corners which is nothing and a small area to the offside rear wheel arch above the black side bar which, again, could be easily sorted. Nice Cortina at a nice price.
