Introduced in 2001, the SLK32 AMG was powered by a handbuilt, supercharged 3. 2 litre V6 engine allied to Mercedes-Benz’s new SpeedShift 5G-Tronic transmission. With 349bhp/ 332lbft on tap, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4. 6 seconds and 155mph (limited). The suspension, brakes and steering were all upgraded to deal with such Porsche 911 performance levels, while the discrete bootlid spoiler reduced lift by fifty percent.
