Description
ULEZ compliant BMW E39 525i M Sport Touring factory built manual gearbox and long MOT until Feb 2026 with no advisories.
Purchased by me 7. 5 years ago this has been our main family car until early this year and has served us superbly.
The E39 is last of the great BMW's. It took me 6 months to find one in this condition and spec, the key feature for us being that it is a factory manual M Sport, not the much more common auto.
Purchased with 82k miles now with 144506 under her wheels, she has been used, but incredibly well cared for throughout her life, including during our ownership.
Paperwork and equipment includes the following:
1. BMW book pack with service book, manuals etc.
2. Huge A4 ring bound history file containing all old MOT's back to 2010 and a print out of the MOT history prior to that. All invoices for work and maintenance back to 2005 are in date order in the file.
3. Unopened original 1st Aid kit with the contents still sealed inside.
4. BMW glovebox torch.
5. Pioneer hands free Bluetooth/ DAB/ USB touch screen sound system & satnav, fully operational.
6. Working cup holders.
7. Factory fitted swan neck removable tow bar with hidden panel in the bumper, this fits into a clamp in the spare wheel well. In full working order.
Last year the following work was done:
1. Drop rear sub-frame and replace bushes. While this was out some light surface rust was cleaned up, treated and a fresh coat of stone guard paint applied.
2. New rear brake pipes, done correctly with the fuel tank dropped out.
3. New front brake discs & pads.
4. Inspection 2 service.
5. 2x Continental rear tyres.
Since the above was carried out she has covered no more than 5000 miles or so.
Early this year the following was carried out:
1. New DISA valve (genuine BMW).
2. 2x new Continental front tyres.
3. Oil & filter service.
4. New wheel centre badges (genuine BMW).
This really is unlike most of the tatty, slightly down at heel E39 Tourings left, most being rusty and patched up over the years. I have kept on top of the body, steam cleaning the underside a couple of times each winter to clear road salt & regularly polishing her. She has had some localised paint over the years to as to be expected of a car of this age and useage and of course has the odd mark around her, but nonetheless presents incredibly well having had a 3-stage paint correction and been ceramic coated with Supaguard last year. The wheels were last refurbished a couple of years or so ago and do have a few marks on a couple of them.
Everything works, there is no pixelation on any of the dash read outs, the front & rear parking sensors all work as they should, the A/ C is fully functioning and blows ice cold and she drives beautifully as only an E39 can.
This is a very rare chance to own a factory built manual E39 M Sport Touring with the famous straight 6 petrol engine in excellent condition throughout.
