Description

Triumph TR4A 1966 – Beautiful Example with Exceptional History

We have been consigned to sell this stunning example of the TR4.
Superbly presented in Carmen red coachwork with wire wheels and chrome detail.

The interior is completed with black leather seats to black panels and carpets. All completed with wooden veneer dash surround all detailed with chrome.

First registered on 11th March 1966, this Triumph TR4 IRS is an excellent example of a well-maintained British classic with an impressively documented history.
We believe the 88, 000 miles shown to be correct, supported by a comprehensive history file dating back to 1968. Included in the documentation are numerous invoices, bills, MOT certificates, the original V5 registration document, and the original owner's handbook. It's rare to find such a meticulously preserved and detailed history spanning over five decades.
Between 2003 and 2009, the car underwent extensive restoration work, which included:

New body panels all around
Full respray in what appears to be Carmen Red
New carpets and interior trim
New hood and tonneau cover
New wire wheels

The TR4 Still presents very well today,, showing no signs of rust to the bodywork or under carriage. The paintwork is rust free bright and very well presented. The chrome is good condition with minor pitting and the roof works as it should with no holes or damage. The interior is also presented in very good condition with the exception of a little cracking and lacquer peel at the edge of the dash.

The car is currently fitted with relatively new tyres and is mechanically sound. It drives well and benefits from a fully functioning overdrive. It also appears to have had a Stage 2 engine upgrade, believed to have been carried out some years ago, adding extra performance.
Most recently, the car was sold by Turner Classics Ltd in 2021, a highly regarded name in the classic car world.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a genuine piece of British motoring history, presented in great condition and with a provenance rarely found in similar vehicles.
