1938 MG Midget ‘Series TA’ – Nut and Bolt Restoration
We are delighted to be welcoming back this exceptionally smart 1938 MG TA, a car we know well having previously sold it to its current owner.
The photographs and video shown are from our previous sale of the car. A fresh set of photographs and an updated video will be added following its arrival and preparation.
Successor to the PB Midget, the TA arrived in 1936 with a longer wheelbase and wider track, offering improved ride quality and more cockpit space.
Under the bonnet, the TA featured a 1. 3-litre pushrod engine developed from the Wolseley 10, with twin SU carburettors. With around 50 bhp on tap and a top speed approaching 80 mph, it was a lively performer in its day.
This particular 1938 MG TA was meticulously rebuilt from the bare chassis. A correct MPJG engine is fitted, making it VSCC eligible, and a comprehensive photographic record documents the restoration.
Finished in particularly attractive two-tone green, with complementary green upholstery, it is a striking and beautifully presented example
