The mechanic recommends replacing the lambda sensors. It's an old car, albeit a youngtimer, and an English car, so there's always work to be done if you want the car to be in concours condition. In addition to the pollution problem, you might want to consider: - replacing or repairing the radio and aerial (given) - repairing (recharging?) the air conditioning - lightly refurbishing the driver's seat leather (not a big deal) - re-gluing the headlining on the rear end (holds well with discreet needle) - radiator warning light that comes on intermittently. No problems with the radiator or the circuit. Apparent sensor problem or false contact.
- Oil pressure warning light on. It was still working a month ago. Sensor problem - small control knob on driver's mirror has just broken. To be replaced.
