I am selling a Beetle cabriolet "Champagne" better known as "triple White". I have owned this vehicle since 2021 and am selling it for personal reasons that do not affect the integrity of this convertible.
History: 1000 examples of this model were produced for the American market. According to the documents in my possession, it was launched in California (1977), then sold in 2005. Its new owner dealt with VINTAGE AUTOHAUS (an Air-cooled specialist based in the Lot region of France) in 2009 to re-import it into France. Subsequently sold to Mr F., this Beetle remained in his possession until June 2021, when I bought it back.
Work carried out since 2021 (I have all the invoices - €11, 000 for the whole package and the January 2025 MOT): the mechanical parts were brought up to standard at ROAD SERVICE in Aussonne. Shock absorbers, firewall replacement, engine removal to change the engine tower gasket and spinnaker gasket, exhaust adapted to the engine configuration (twin 40 carburettors), replacement of all the petrol hoses around the tank, brakes (master cylinder, linings, wheel cylinders, front and rear bearings, starter motor). Maintenance is also carried out by ROAD SERVICE.
Sheet metal work: the sheet metal under the battery was changed, the rear soft top was repaired and repainted, as was the inside of the rear cell, which had corroded following leaks from the soft top. Some surface corrosion. The driver's door is pitted. Upholstery, bonnet: all new, bonnet (headlining, padding, cover), seat cover, door panels, all ordered from TMI.
To be done as a matter of urgency: the paintwork needs to be redone, although it still looks good. Top seals burnt out by the Arizona sun, carpets, fickle fuel gauge, floating gear lever. Don't forget that this cox is 48 years old! It runs very well, and is very safe to drive. It's a pleasure to drive, especially with the top down, and sufficiently responsive to overtake.
CT January 2025 favourable, rather rare convertible that is starting to be sought after, not the ultimate but one of the last, original. I almost forgot the registration document, a normal one with numbers that match.
I offer it for 21500 euros justified.
