Description
I purchased this 1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport in February 2020, subsequently I have completed further detailed restoration work including a new set of reproduction silencers to match the original design imported from Italy, fitting the correct tank decals, a new set of pistons and chrome lined cylinders from the original manufacturer, again imported from Italy, new seal kits, slides and float needles for Dellorto’s etc. It has the original twin leading shoe front brakes and Borrani rims vs the later disc brake models. For shorter riders the Moto Guzzi V7 Sport combines a low centre of gravity and seat height. The excellent handling of the classic Tonti frame and torque of the 750cc V twin make this an enjoyable ride on twisty on A and B roads.
A prior owner had the clicks renovated, hence the original mileage is unknown vs ~ 670 miles shown on the speedometer, however the Tonti based V twins are very well known for their longevity and durability. A relatively rare, anttractive and classic Moto Guzzi V twin that slots nicely into current trend and desirability of retro designs, whilst providing plenty of torque and excellent handing for sunny days and twisty roads.
It starts on the button, idles nicely. A lot of the chrome fittings are of a better quality than later Moto Guzzi’s, when the focus at the factory switched to margins and profit vs high quality after they were acquired by De Tomaso.
