Description
Built in April 1971, this MkII Jensen Interceptor is one of just 433 LHD examples produced – making it a rare find among enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The MkII was introduced in late 1969 with the American market in mind, featuring restyled bodywork, a fully revised interior with smooth padded contours, rocker switches, and factory air conditioning. Power comes from the 383 cu in Chrysler V8 paired with a three-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission – a true grand tourer of its era.
This particular Interceptor was originally supplied to the U. S. market and later spent much of its life in the Middle East, benefiting from the dry climate. In 2016, it underwent a comprehensive restoration and upgrade programme, which included:
• Extensive work to the body, paint, interior and electrical systems
• A complete interior retrim with upgraded materials
• Installation of modern enhancements, including a bespoke switch panel, central locking, and a new entertainment system
The car remains in sound structural condition. Mechanically, the engine and transmission perform well, while the suspension bushes and brake calipers require servicing or replacement — straightforward jobs for the next custodian.
Overall, this Interceptor represents a unique blend of British craftsmanship and tasteful modern upgrades. With some recommissioning, it would make a distinctive, usable classic that stands out from the crowd — and it’s priced accordingly to reflect this.
