A late registration, low owner, high spec example with a remarkably low, 14, 000 recorded miles, this well-presented MG TF 160 is an increasingly sought-after British sports car rarely found with such provenance.
With the collapse of MG Rover and the subsequent closure of the Longbridge factory, production of the MG TF was suspended in April 2005. One of just 26 vehicles registered in 2006, this example was first registered on 11 May 2006 and retained by the original keeper until 2009, by which point it had covered a modest 12, 000 miles. The second keeper cherished the car for a further 13 years, covering a mere 1, 400 miles under their custodianship. With the third and final registered keeper acquiring the vehicle in March 2022, they too used the car sparingly adding just 1, 300 miles to the total.
Finished in Anthracite metallic, the car presents to a refreshingly high standard. A modern classic at nearly 20 years of age, the car wears its years remarkably well; the sills and wheel arches unaffected by corrosion, the panels presenting without damage. Aside from a small number of inconsequential stone chips and minor cosmetic imperfections barely warranting mention, there really is little to note. The 16-inch Eleven-Spoke alloy wheels are generally well preserved with only the fronts evidencing a measure of cosmetic kerb damage. Reassuringly, all four wheels are wrapped in nearly new Toyo Proxes TR1 performance tyres.
Inside, the Ash cockpit contrasts beautifully against the Grenadine Alcantara and Black leather upholstery. The seat bolsters remain firm, supportive, and free from any notable wear or creasing. The Alcantara centre panels — an area notoriously susceptible to wear — evidence light use commensurate with the vehicle's low mileage. The door panels, dashboard and switchgear are wonderfully presented.
Desirably specified with a factory hard top, the aforementioned Alcantara & leather upholstery, and front fog lamps, the car is accompanied by an MG document wallet, a stamped Service Record documenting maintenance history, and an MG TF sales brochure.
