EVER since being a car-daft small boy in the late 1950s, the Riley One Point Five has remained one of my favorite sports saloons of that era. This model, along with the Sunbeam Rapier, appealed to me so much that the feeling I have for them has never left me. Later this month I shall be 71!
The shape, the curved Riley grille, the twin carbs, the wooden dash, the three clocks directly in front of the driver, the leather interior. I could go on. They look like a sports saloon and they drive like one too. The vast majority of you reading this will already know of the model's prowess, and so I shall leave it there.
Here we have a little beauty in dark blue with contrasting light blue interior and all those interior goodies I have just mentioned. A really sound and pretty car, she presents herself superbly well and is great on the road. There is an enormous history file and I particularly like the small notebook with hand-written details of every mile driven during the five-year period between 2010 and 2015. These super little cars are rarely offered these days. Indeed, compared to their sister car the Wolseley 1500, they were built in very small numbers.
