This is a very smart, and increasingly rare BMW R75/ 5.
First registered new in June of 1973, the bike is a matching numbers, UK bike.
I had the pleasure of selling this one to its last owner almost 10 years ago, and the bike is an absolute credit to him. He undertook a thorough restoration of the bike. The engine was removed and refreshed, the frame and fittings powder coated, paintwork professionally refinished, wheels rebuilt with stainless spokes on original alloy rims, new tyres, stainless exhausts, new seat, etc, etc, etc. kick and electric start.
We’ve all been there, getting carried away with that bottomless money pit of a restoration, and not daring to add up the receipts. Sound familiar ? You simply couldn’t restore it for the asking price.
