In 2010, a comprehensive rebuild was undertaken that not only presents in an incredible unmarked condition, but with its 110bhp 2. 0L Pinto engine, professionally engineered and installed, delivers the drive and fun that I’ve never experienced in a Mk1 before. This is the best Mk1 I’ve driven in my lifetime, and the most fun a Mk1 could deliver.
Originally a base model of the Mk1 Escort, the transformation is incredible, as the car has received much attention and looks stunning in Ford's Olympic blue which, incidentally, is finished to an exemplary standard also. The bodywork has the preferred steel extended ‘bubble’ wheel arches, chassis strengthening including chassis rails, flitch plates, anti-tramp bars, anti-dive kit, 22mm anti-roll bar, upgraded shocks absorbers, springs, vented front brake discs and incredibly, a quick shift type-9 5-speed gearbox and LSD. The engine has a strengthened 205 block, cylinder modifications and a 4-2-1 Ashley Sports exhaust system.
