The story of this Ford ****** Mk1 1600 GT Mexico begins with its delivery in Finland on April 18, 1974. The car has remained there ever since. A few years ago, a Ford mechanic grabbed his toolbox and began a restoration that is unparalleled. The entire car was completely overhauled, with every detail preserved or restored to its original state. Every detail perfectly reflects the passion exerted to keep this piece of history running smoothly. A minor adjustment was made to the seats; these are from the Mk2 and are much more comfortable than the originals. We readily forgive the restorer for that. Incidentally, the original seats are also included.
This beautiful Electric Blue Monza ****** is an original AVO ******, meaning it comes from the special series of vehicles produced between 1968 and 1975 by Ford Motor Company's Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO). These include the Twin Cam, RS1600, Mexico, and RS2000 versions of the MK1 ******, along with the RS3100 Capri. An AVO body is a must for enthusiasts and purists.
The ****** remained in Finland until it ended up in a Dutch collection of cars and motorcycles a few years ago. With a heavy heart, the owner is now more or less forced to sell his beloved ****** due to a business relocation and resulting lack of space. Because we currently have a few for sale, the car is in suitable company, allowing those interested to compare and more easily decide which ****** should be in their garage.
