Description
This Triumph TR3A was acquired in Kentucky and originally supplied in North Carolina. Originally black, it was repainted green many years ago using period synthetic paint.
The car has been off the road for a long time and suffered impact damage from a fallen tree branch, affecting the top body panels on the front and rear. It is incomplete and in rough condition, but remains a viable restoration project for skilled metalworkers.
The body tub shows corrosion and requires repairs to the firewall and rear deck panel, along with new floor panels, sills and boot floor. All body panels need work, but are largely solid. The chassis appears straight and mostly sound, with some light rust visible at the central breast plate.
The engine is seized and will require a full rebuild. Engine number indicates a later TR3A replacement unit and does not match the commission number range. Commission and body numbers are within the same range. Standard 4-speed gearbox.
Missing parts include the right-hand front wing, carburettors, radiator, fuel tank, spare wheel, seats and gearbox tunnel cover. All parts present have been photographed; items not shown should be considered missing. Odometer reads 29, 524 miles.
A challenging but honest TR3A restoration project with correct paperwork.
