We are in 1987: BMW engineers unveil at the Frankfurt Motor Show a sketch of their vision for the brand’s future. The design, the engine, and the resolutely futuristic look leave a mark. What was only meant to be a concept will ultimately be marketed from 1989: the BMW Z1 was born.
