Description
Plan to sell this Renault 4CV to fund other projects.
Totally restored in 2024. The bodywork looks good but there are a few paint runs to touch up. The engine has been rebuilt from the ground up and has only 6000 km.
Work carried out on the car:
- cylinder liners, valve seats re-cut, replacement of all engine gaskets, resurfacing, new water pump, timing gear, carburettor refurbished, fuel pump rebuilt, radiator refurbished
- gearbox seals, rear wheel bearings, new brake linings, new wheel cylinders, master cylinder redone, new silentblocks, new steering boots, new suspension bump stops, new tyres and inner tubes, original wheel trims and chrome
- underbody treated with anti-rust, one coat of underseal and two coats of cold epoxy. Dents in the bodyshell have been knocked out by hand to minimise the thickness of filler. High-quality paint (DuPont Cromax on a Centari base) and the original shade preserved (Lavender Grey 659). Wheels and dashboard repainted (Swedish Grey). Hollow body panels treated with cavity wax.
- original seats and headlining, original steering wheel, original speedometer, new carpets, new underlay under carpets, new windscreen and rear window seals.
- LED lights and conversion to transistorised ignition to dispense with the condenser (reversible modifications).
There are still a few details to finish, but nothing major.
V5C (registration) and MOT up to date.
