1950 4CV Le Mans
This 4CV Le Mans using a 4CV 1060 base was originally a Parisian car
before being imported into the UK in 1964. The 4CV spent many years on
display at a Renault dealership when it was then sold to an RAF Pilot who
converted the car to 12v and fitted a servo. It was subsequently sold on
to D. Wheeler, Hillclimb Champion and Engineer. The current owner then
worked with Mr Wheeler having commissioned him to build a Le Mans
Recreation using extremely rare and period parts.
The original 760cc engine was replaced with a 904cc unit.
The 3-speed box was upgraded with an extremely rare 5-speed
Redele/ Pons, also known as a Claude box, had the mesh removed to fit
the extra gears. At the time the 5-speed gear box was manufactured, it
sold for the same price as a standard build 4CV.
The rear suspension was also upgraded, again with the ultra-rare Gregoire
Rear Suspension.
To match the Le Mans spec, the brakes were changed to 9-inch Juva
drums.
All components that have been removed have been stored away and
come with the car.
Also included is a package of period, later dash, Jaeger Gauges, Rev
Counters + drive for rev counter either from the engine or distributor
(minus cable) in order to configure the dash to Le Mans spec.
This 4CV Le Mans is a unique package that would be very difficult to put
together again. This 1950 4CV, in this configuration that was normally
used in the extremely rare Alpine 106 Mille Miles, makes this a truly exceptional find.

Files with all build history etc, etc.
Recommissioned by us this year, re-cored Radiator, Carburetor rebuilt & new sports air cleaner, new electric fuel pump & pressure regulator, ethanol proof fuel hoses.
Brakes cleaned adjusted & bled.
Starts on the button, historic racer.
