This incredibly rare and beautifully presented 1967 Lancia Flavia 1. 8 Vignale Convertible is a magnificent piece of Italian automotive history and a privilege to offer onto the market. Registered new on 18th January 1967, HNF 854E is one of less than 40 original right-hand drive 1. 8 examples ever built and sold into the UK and very few have survived. While production of this exclusive Vignale-bodied model actually ceased in 1964, its premium price tag meant a handful of cars including this exact example were not sold and registered until a few years later, making it an exceptionally rare survivor.
Presented in its correct and original colour of 'Azzurro Vincennes', reported to have been resprayed as part of a body restoration at the start of the millennium. The elegant Vignale lines hold a lovely finish 26-years on. Crucially, the car is accompanied by its rare and highly desirable original factory hardtop, beautifully finished in matching Azzurro Vincennes, offering the new custodian the perfect choice between open-top touring and elegant coupe motoring. Adding to its excellent provenance, the Lancia still retains its original factory instruction manual.
Mechanically, this Flavia has been subject to an extraordinary level of recent investment and has been meticulously looked after by the specialists at Auto Revive of Uxbridge. In October 2022 a new clutch was fitted, followed by a rebuild and recambering of the rear suspension in 2023 to ensure the car handles exactly as the engineers in Turin intended. The mechanical updates culminated in June 2024 with a comprehensive, full engine rebuild. To ensure the freshly rebuilt engine performs flawlessly, £1, 645 was recently spent having the carburettors completely rebuilt and meticulously tuned on a rolling road.
