Reliant Fox for sale. Registered 1985, white with original black tilt rear cover and has a rear bulkhead with demister, also an additional hard top I bought that has never been fitted to this vehicle. It has the original seats, sunroof, radio/ cassette and towbar. The Fox belonged to a Reliant dealer for many years. It has all new brakes - wheel cylinders, shoes, springs and retainers, and all new brake pipes, (metal and rubber). The front backplates were removed, cleaned and painted and new adjusters fitted to rear backplates. Not original exhaust, kitten type front pipe with new Fiesta rear exhaust box and heavy duty exhaust hangers fitted. Brand new rear shocks. Engine serviced and all levels checked and prop greased. New fuel pump, rear fuel filter and fuel line. New fan belt and vacuum pipe. Front suspension cleaned, ball joints checked and greased and front anti-roll bar bushes replaced with superior Ford alternatives. Larger battery fitted, starts first time, runs perfectly and has 74, 400 miles on speedo. Reliant all-alloy 850cc engine & gearbox, same as Reliant three-wheeler, so spares are no problem. Door window frames are in excellent condition, (a bad point on most Foxes and expensive to peplace), and rear windows slide OK. Needs a new roof lining, but an easy job. It's on the original HA van steel wheels, (that are slightly rusty and would benefit from repainting), with 4 brand new tyres, valves and balanced with excellent spare and original hubcaps.
Body is very good, although with a few marks, but no crazing. Paint is dull, but will T-cut to a shine, (remember this car is over 20 years old.. All the door locks work and doors and tailgate open and close perfectly. Has original carpets in good condition. Drivers seat has a small tear and the rear tilt cover is slightly torn in a couple of places an will repair easily with heavy duty sewing machine, but on the plus side the transparent panels are clear and not sun-faded at all. Hard top is in pretty good condition.
I have the original owner's handbook, old V5 showing original owner, information pack and other Fox literature that belongs with the car. Also MoT tests from 1990, receipts for work carried out before I bought the car and all of the receipts for the parts I have fitted. I am a qualified motor mechanic and all of the work on the car has been done properly. Reason for sale - the Fox was intended for my girlfriend who needed a small pick-up type vehicle to carry horse feed, hay etc. Now I have neither girlfriend nor horse so the Fox is surplus to requirements. There is no MoT at present and the car is on SORN, but I will provide an MoT for the buyer – and will tax the car for the buyer at cost. Price including new MoT is £850. I have a lot more money than that in it, but it's not likely that I'll ever get back what it cost me to do all of the work as it was not carried out to make a profit as I originally had no intentions of selling the Fox. No part exchanges or swaps please. This is a rare opportunity to buy one of these economical, (50mpg), and rust free, (galvanised chassis and GP body), little vehicles in a near original and unmolested condition.
