Description
Our 1966 Porsche 912 has undergone a full restoration by its previous owner, a keen and skilled metal worker, so that the car, a Californean sun worshipper, is in perfect order throughout. I have over 600 photographs taken of the restoration on CD, so I can reliably state this 912 is totally rust free and in perfect shape. Everything, and I mean everything, on this car has been restored, including the suspension, brakes, steering, five-speed gearbox and Type-1 1600 cc motor. It has too many new parts to list here, but everything is detailed in the volumous paperwork but includes; Michelin WX tyres, seats, door cards, head lining, dash top, carpets, rubber weather stripping etc.
All electrical items work perfectly, including the eight track Decca cartridge player, and this 912 drives as new with no vices, as you might expect from a total nut & bolt restoration. Having said this and after you have viewed the photographs and video, there are a few minor items to finish off e. g. the right hand chrome headlight bezel needs to be renewed, the off side window winder knob is missing and the new black carpets have yellow-piping which are not to my taste. The engine has been totally overhauled with complete new stainless exhaust system, heat exchangers and twin 40 Dellorto carbs. Naturally, as you'll see, the 912 is UK registered, enjoys free historic road tax and has a long MOT. There are some original papers, including a 1966 sales brochure, lots & lots of bills totalling in excess of £12k for the restoration parts alone and that very iinteresting CD of restoration pictures, I spoke of earlier.
Please call Andrew on +44(0)the details below or the details below to discuss, as there is probably something I've missed in the advert. The only reason for sale is that I have another project coming over from the USA and hence, this lovely little 912 must go.
I consider the asking price of £14, 950 is very fair for an early short wheel base 912 with non-matching Type-1 motor, but otherwise an original and honest little Porsche, located near Dorking, Surrey.
Send me an email and I can furnish some more photographs of the underside etc.
