1970 Mercedes 280SE coupe, a rare and desirable low grill model with stacked headlights. Finished in midnight blue with light grey leather interior, white steering wheel and six cylinder 2. 8 litre engine with automatic transmission.
This beautiful coupe was originally from Holland before spending fifteen years in a motor museum in the UK. I purchased the car eight years ago and have covered less than 1, 500 miles in it as the car has only been used for the occasional classic car show. The current odometer reading is 87, 000 kilometres which from the cars lack of use during the last twenty two years could be correct.
The Mercedes has been kept in a heated garage and has never been out in the rain. The bodywork is excellent with very straight lines and good panel joints apart from one small blemish on the bonnet. The chrome work and interior are all in excellent condition and the car runs and drives superbly. I have had great pleasure owning the coupe and it always gets admirers wherever it goes.
The car comes with its original service books and various receipts and MOTs etc. It also has a complete traceable history of all its previous owners. These hand-built coupes are rapidly appreciating in value with some low grill models fetching in excess of £50, 000. I have priced the car reasonably at £24, 000 but am not willing to take offers.
