The VW Corrado G60 is a fixed head front wheel drive, two door, 2x2 seater coupe designed and built for VW by Karmann Germany. It has a 1. 8 litre, 4 cylinder, 8 valve overhead cam supercharged Digifant injection petrol engine. The super charger is the G-Lader model producing 160bhp.
This car was first registered in June 1991 by the VW Garage in Dunstable and I purchased it in August 1992 with under 4000 miles on the clock. I have owned the car for some 22 years and it has done only 30, 000 miles. It has been garaged consistently and was used regularly until I retired in 1995 recording around 15000 miles. It was then used as a second car covering well under 1000 miles annually but in the last 5 or 6 years it has only done a few hundred miles a year . A full set of MOTs is available from 1994 which will confirm the very low mileage.
The car has not been modified and is in its original condition with a Bosch Blaupunkt radio and 15inch BBS alloy wheels with centres. The car has its original instruction wallet and unused spare wheel.
The body work and interior are in excellent condition with little sign of age or use. The underside of the body is also very clean. All the equipment including central locking, electric windows and mirrors, tilt and slide sunroof and lifting rear spoiler are in working order. A Piranha car alarm with ultra sonic cab protection sensors has been fitted.
The Corrado has been acknowledged as one of the outstanding VW models and this unique example with its very low mileage still drives well with the usual rather firm ride. The supercharged engine still runs very smoothly.
Because of the low mileage and very irregular use in the last 10 years the service record is patchy. When new the car was fully serviced by VW or the owner but latterly this has been limited to the lubrication service with parts as
required(brake pads, exhaust system, clutch master and slave cylinders, tyres and battery)
The car has a current MOT to July 2015 and is taxed to August 2015.
