This Truck is now sold
This is a two-owner car that was delivered new in California where it had lived its whole life. A true survivor and stock truck. I have paperwork dating back to 1963 and the bill of sale from 1965 when it was last sold to the most current owner before me (Yes!! last time it changed hands was 50 years ago). Also present are the original 1954 owners book and workshop manual
This 55 First Series (rarer and one of the last to be built) Chevy is a straight 235cu in (c 3. 9L) 6 cylinder with a "3 on The Tree" gear shift. Born at Oakland California in 55 with the open driveshaft and floor peddle start(working).
Drives, pulls and sounds great, gets a smile from everyone. This truck has never been in any accidents or had any rust. The body/ frame are in great condition (that's California for you) it is painted it's original factory colour (refreshed) with a very nice light patina. It has a few superficial scratches and missing paint which could be sorted to lift to a higher standard. There is a small amount of paint with the truck
The interior is very clean and simple. It needs a headliner and matting. Overall this is just a really nice, original old truck that has been well looked after and has some nice history documented. This vehicle is MOT exempt, Zero tax and fully registered in the UK on a period 55 registration plate My fully comp classic insurance is around £100.
My original plan was to leave the patina detail the engine bay and use for shows and events. I have some other projects so contact me if you have any interest. More pictures on eBay and Pistonheads or contact me if you would like additional photographs or details
