Beskrivning
BMW E34 M5, first registered August 1995. This is a rare vehicle, only 343 examples with this specification were hand built at Garching, the BMW motor sport facility in Germany. This car was manufactured in January 1995. This model produces 340bhp at 6900rpm and 295 ib/ ft of torque at 4750rpm, 0-60 in 5. 7 seconds with a limited top speed of 155mph. De-limited it would be capable of over 170mph. The specification is as follows:
• 3. 8L, 24 valve, inline six S38 engine.
• Getrag Type D six speed manual gear box.
• Enlarged brake callipers with two piece “floating” front callipers.
• Nurburgring suspension package.
• Widened front “kidney” grills revised bonnet to match.
• 18 inch M parallel spoke wheels.
• Full recaro black leather interior
• All the usual spec as well, e. g. air con, electric windows, computer etc…
Since purchasing this vehicle I have made the following tasteful modifications:
• M-tech badge on the kidney grill.
• Angel eyes head light conversion. (Full units purchased, not the cheap inserts!)
• Clear indicator lights all round.
• Hella spoiler on the boot lid. (I thought it finished the rear of the vehicle off nicely)
• I’ve replaced the rear hydraulic suspension with Koni adjustable shocks and M5 springs. I had a problem with it and after consulting online forums discovered Koni parts increased the handling performance. I consider it money well spent. The only down side is a suspension levelling warning appears on the dash board display. I’ve tried to lock the sensor in place underneath the vehicle as advised by online forums but the warning still appears. However, the front shocks are still working perfectly, if you switch the suspension from programmed to sport the suspension hardens significantly. The overall handling performance is excellent.
• A tracker has also been fitted. (Details for the tracker will be provided during the sale.)
I have also replaced the following parts due to general wear and tear:
• New discs and pads all round.
• Water pump.
This vehicle is in excellent condition. For the last two years I’ve used it as a second car and it sits in the garage when not in use. All four tyres have less than 2 thousand miles (or there abouts) wear on them. The current mileage is 119, 600miles. (correct at the time of writing this!) The M. O. T isn’t due until October 2009. It passed the last M. O. T without any advisories! Tax is up at the end April. (£185 for the year) I purchased this vehicle two years ago from a friend’s father and I have serviced it regularly (every 5000 miles) only using top quality parts and fluids. He is another enthusiast who maintained it to a high standard. Unfortunately, the person he had purchased the car from had lost all the service history.
However, I’ve done some digging. I contacted the garage where it was originally sold from and they could confirm it was serviced with them up until 77000 miles. They last saw the vehicle in 2000 and it wasn’t due for the next service until 2006. Unfortunately they couldn’t give me the previous owner’s details due to data protection. My friend’s father purchased the vehicle in 2003 on 89000 miles and he replaced the cutch and serviced it every 5000 miles since. A test drive is welcome. (test drives will only be allowed accompanied with a valid insurance certificate that covers you to drive the vehicle). Upon seeing the vehicle you will see how good a condition it is in! It drives perfectly! No test pilots please!!
Now to the inevitable bad points:
• There is some curbing on the alloys thanks to a previous owner.
• There is a small dent on the leading edge of the bonnet i think due to someone shutting the bonnet to hard!
• There is a small dent (5p size) on the passenger front wing next to the indicator.
• One of the rear windows doesn’t work, I think it’s a loose connection.
• Some minor marks consistent with the age of the vehicle.
• The display on the CD player doesn’t work.
I am regrettably selling this vehicle due to needing a larger deposit for a house. This car is fast becoming a classic; it looks awesome with fantastic performance. Newer M5’s maybe faster but this model is by far the best all-round M5 produced to date. A true ultimate driving machine.
