Description
This car is a 1958 Morris Minor 1000 in Sage Green. It is being sold here as an easy project. It has been in the same ownership since 1995 but has not been used since 2012.
We have just carried out some re-commissioning and this car now runs and drives but will require gentle use and a few minor jobs before it can be used regularly on the road.
The upper body is solid with some surface rust in places but no serious rot. A partial re-paint will be required to make it perfect.
The underside is excellent – in 1995 over £1600 was spent with a Minor specialist on a structural overhaul including complete new floors, cross-member, inner and outer sills etc and it remains in very good order.
The engine runs sweetly and the gearbox works well although the syncros are a little worn. The brakes were stuck but are now working well although they are still “bedding in” after its period in storage.
Fitted with an unleaded cylinder head. New battery just fitted.
A very straightforward project requiring mainly cosmetic work but little expense to make it useable.
Tax and MOT exempt.
