This is a piece of history look for another !

I bought the car ten years ago from David Gerald Sports Cars, this car is believed to have been commissioned from the factory by Chris Meek in the 1980’s and may have been used production sports car championships. I have a large framed picture in racing paint scheme included. The car was converted back to road trim and sold on after the race series. This is one of the last Ms from the factory the model with the nice back lights.
It could do with some TLC, I would describe it as complete and easily re-commissioned. Body a bit rough around the edges scuffs etc, but nice and shiny. Engine is run frequently and all brakes are working and free. The rear internal trim over the back lights is not fitted as its too tatty with big speaker holes, neither is driver’s carpet but they are there for patterns. The car has always been garaged.
The Car
· 1980(W)
· No MOT or Tax
· 56, 000 on the clock
Starts on the button, engine is 1600 crossflow worked by Minster, I am not sure of the internals but revs very free, no smoke, knocking or excessive noise. Fitted a 45 side draught Webber on a lynx manifold with twin cable and linkage conversion, K&N filter and 4 branch manifold into single box exhaust not excessive but nice . An Aldon igniter is fitted, hidden within the distributor. The original downdraught carb, K&N filter and manifold are included with the car.
It has been rewired with new Autosparks loom to the correct international colour codes. Front & rear wishbones powder coated a couple of years ago and fitted with superflex bushes.
Wheels are 4 split rims as supplied from the factory tyres are near new all matching Dunlop SP sports with a good spare on an odd alloy.
Fitted are a new battery, alternator and fuel pump, Kenlow fan with dash-mounted over-ride, rad was re-cored 10 years ago but is still good. It has a four speed box with Quick shift lever fitted, included in the sale is a Type 9 5 speed box fitted with quick shift lever and the correct Alloy bell housing for this engine to box. The bonnet is fitted with ‘R’ clips and a plug break to allow the whole front to be removed very quickly for improved access under the engine bay. The chassis has the usual flakes of rust on the outriggers and at the back end and shows some signs of repairs in the past but no holes. Diff clunks slightly selecting gear only when stationary (triumph part and easy to obtain spares).
Some spares are included mainly just bits and bobs, washer bottle/ motor, switches, new door striker plates, column stalks and brake pads bits I picked up over the years.
I used the car for some years but family commitments mean I don’t get out in it anymore. Its last MOT and outing was the Cheshire Classic car show in 2002, since then it has been dry stored with runs down the drive to keep things free. I am reluctant to let it go but it needs to be used and I don’t have the time.
Important: the accompanying pictures are a true reflection of the car as they are only a couple of weeks old.
Parts are easy to come by and cheap being mainly Ford and triumph.
