An original right-hand drive, matching numbers, English car, first supplied to a gentleman in Dumfries. It has had only four previous owners, and this is supported by the original log book and current V5C which follows on from the original. The car appears only to have been used regularly for the first 11 years of its life, covering 55, 000 miles and this can be seen on the MOT of 1965. It transferred to its third owner in that year, and remained in his ownership until 2015. It appears to be totally original, and apart from a missing seat, totally complete (a new seat frame and seat foam with springs come with the car). This car is in incredibly good condition with no rust or rot and the door gaps are excellent. The engine starts easily and runs well with good oil pressure. The gearbox, clutch and brakes all operate although the handbrake is disconnected. Much of the interior ie door cards etc is present and saveable, and the driver’s seat is good. The dashboard is good and all the dials are there. The hood frame needs re-covering and the side screens would benefit from some renovation, although three of them are perfectly useable. We suggest that the car could be fully re-commissioned and a new wiring loom and tyres fitted to make it ready for the road again – this would be rather nice as it is such an original car. Alternatively, a full restoration would be straighfoward ie strip down, repaint and put back together – some work will be needed to the upholstery. The car has its original registration number. Fully restored cars of this type are now fetching in the high 20s, so an excellent opportunity at a very advantageous price. Comes with nice history file with old invoices and original handbook.
