Beschrijving
This is a very original little vintage car that has had a lot of work done, but just needs a committed new owner to finish and return it to the road.
The work apparently done so far, the radiator recored, dynamo rebuilt, the cylinder head rebuilt with new valves and guides, bottom end stripped and checked, the bores honed and new piston rings fitted, five new tyres and tubes fitted, seats all recovered and new interior trims made. The bevel drive oil seal has been modified to a double rubber lip seal to stop the problem of oil in the dynamo that used to blight these engines when new.
There is also a complete new unfitted exhaust system.
The car is appears complete, even down to the calorimeter, klaxon and very nice array of period badges on the badge bar.
Work still to be done, the car has been badly brush painted in slightly the wrong colour! It should really be a darker maroon, so it will need flatting and reprinting, the Kopalapso folding roof still has the remains of the original canvas, which is beyond it, but there as a pattern, the frame and mechanism works perfectly, even the original headlining should be reusable with a bit of care!
The cylinder head needs to be refitted, but everything is there including a head gasket, new brass manifold nuts and new parts for the cam drive.
The car proudly wears its original Kent registration number, I have the buff logbook and V5C, which indicate 2 or 3 previous owners, depending which you believe.
This is an opportunity to buy a genuine little vintage car that is a bit faster, a bit more useable, and a lot more unusual than an Austin 7 of the period.
It will also fit in a small garage!
