Up for sale is this very rare early type Honda C100. This is a genuine 1959 C100 I personally imported a while ago from Japan. These early C100 are even very rare in Japan and fetch very high prices. Below is more info about the bike itself and shipping.
First I want to emphasize that I'm not selling this bike to make a profit (I'm not). I've always wanted an original early type c100 and when I got the chance I jumped on it. Now, some time later, I'm selling the bike because I want to move onwards with other projects. The high price is a result of the bike being expensive to buy in Japan (auction) and I needed to ship it to Europe.
The C100 is from the year 1959. As you can see in the pictures it has all the correct early type properties, except for the screw-on 'Super cup' sign. To name a few of the early type properties are:
- 'Hawk'-nose rear light
- Different front brake with standing bar
- Blue plastic knobs on the steering wheel
- 2 bolts on the clutch crancase cover
- etc...
What's especially rare is that the legshield is in excellent, uncracked condition. Some of the other plastics have some cracks and rubbers are sometimes dried out due to aging. The same goes for the tires. Please check the pictures thoroughly to get an idea of its condition. Keep in mind this bike is almost 60 years old and in original unrestored condition. To my opinion that's what makes it even more beautiful, its patina. I've never tried to start the bike, but it might run. It's sold as non-runner without warranty.
I hope someone else appreciates this bike as much as I do. It's the bike that started the worldwide expansion of Honda. Your not only buying a bike with history (like those great Japanese stickers), but you're also buying a piece of Honda's history. In that respect it's a great conversation piece and has always stood in my home to enjoy.
