Description

Rover P3 models only had a very short production run lasting around eighteen months. The P3 retains all of the old traditional styling but coupled with new independent coil spring suspension, new hydro-mechanical brakes, two new inlet over exhaust engines in four and six cylinder form which allowed larger valves to fitted, making them more efficient makes the P3 a delightful model to have. This beautiful example was sold by us in 2012 to a regular customer in Suffolk who has parted company with the car after five years due to an imminent re-location to France. During his ownership the Rover has been used on a regular basis and comes back to us on the button, driving and performing superbly.

MPF 325 has covered less than 10, 000 miles since an extensive engine rebuild in 1992. The engine was stripped down and re-shelled, re-bored and new pistons fitted. The starter motor and dynamo were also rebuilt and a new clutch fitted. More recently between 2008 and 2012 the Rover had further expenditure to include a professional re-paint, re-trimmed upholstery and various re-chroming work. The Rover also had mechanical work to include new engine mountings, re-conditioned radiator, new hoses, thermostat, wheel cylinders and spin on oil filter conversion. Various detail improvements such as repairing the clock and refurbishing the steering wheel were also carried and invoices for most of this work and the engine rebuild are with the vehicles history file. This well excecuted work has led to the last owner having five years of enjoyable, troublefree motoring.

The Rover has arrived back with us still in lovely condition. Having had the previous body and paintwork improvements the appearance is delightful. The chrome work is bright and with recently replaced hub caps and new tyres the car stands well. The leather upholstery is in very good order and the overall appearance of the interior is very tidy. The Rover drives well as expected with a strong, rebuilt engine. The gearbox changes nicely and the driving position is very comfortable. The Rover is spacious inside with good visibility making this a very enjoyable model to drive.
