Beschreibung
The Morris Minor was produced from 1948 until 1971. Side-valve engines were followed by OHV engines, first 803, then 948 and finally 1100cc. The Tourer version was produced from launch until 1969 and was very popular, because it was a full four seat convertible. Interestingly, in the first few years of production, roughly a third of the Minors produced were tourers and today they have become quite valuable.
This car is a 1966 original factory Minor Tourer in Maroon with a tan convertible roof. In the late 90’s it was subject to a comprehensive body restoration (photos included). The body and underside are in generally good order and as you can see from the photos it presents very well. It is however not perfect - there is micro-blistering to the front wings and one or two small bubbles on the body but no serious corrosion. The interior trim and convertible roof are in excellent order and on the road, this attractive Minor runs and drives well.
If you are in the market for a Minor Tourer with room for improvement this car is something of a bargain and in our estimation, with around £2k spent it would be a £10k. It is however perfectly useable as is. We have just changed the oils in the engine, gearbox and rear axle. It comes with various bills and old MOT’s, photos of the aforementioned restoration and cherished plate “SPV 218”. Offered here on behalf of our customer who has owned this car since 2004.
