EQUIPMENT
13-inch wheels, sunroof, central locking, radio/ cassette, tool kit, spare key and owner’s manuals.
EXTERIOR
The Silver Metallic paint is in as new condition on this Mazda, as one would expect after a thorough renovation. The paintwork is in beautiful order and has a glass-like shine and clarity throughout. There is no rust, blemishes or scratches. All light lenses and trim retain a fresh appearance. The glass still retains the original Mazda etchings and stickers. Everything is functioning on this example, including the wonderfully retro pop-up headlamps.
INTERIOR
The Brick Velvet and Vinyl is in beautiful condition throughout, with minimal wear to be found. The carpet, trim, switches are all free of wear and have aged very well. The seat bolsters are unworn and are free from any scuffs or sagging. The carpets are unmarked and unworn. The dashboard and centre console are also in equally fine condition, with no cracks or sun damage to be found. This car still retains the original Clarion radio/ cassette headunit which still works perfectly. The interior of this car is such a wonderful place to be and is so beautifully period.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This RX-7 is powered by Mazda’s 2. 3-litre unit, mated to a manual gearbox. This example performs perfectly and the car drives beautifully. The manual gearbox is very crisp through all the gears and it is clear this is a low mileage car. The engine bay has been treated to a complete detailing, including having all the metal components re-plated in the original finish. This now makes this car a true show competitor and would make a great Concours d’Elegance contender. Overall, this is an engine bay that is both original yet has a factory fresh look.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 13-inch wheels are in as new condition, having recently been refurbished back to factory finish. They have been aqua blasted and then the rim edges have been diamond cut. The wheels are shod in brand new tyres all around.
HISTORY
This RX-7 was first registered in September 1979 and has a stamped service history. Coming with a file filled with documentation, from old MOTs dating back to 1987 to various Mazda dealership invoices, tax discs, owner’s manuals and even the original purchasing invoice! This car has therefore been maintained properly and is ready to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come.
